Sage 100 and TLS 1.2 Compliance

The TLS 1.2 shift

In 2015, the PCI Security Standards Council mandated that merchants must discontinue the use of TLS 1.0 by June 2018. Transport Layer Security (TLS) ensures privacy between communicating applications and their users on the internet. However, TLS 1.0 and 1.1 no longer meet minimum security requirements due to known vulnerabilities in the protocol. TLS 1.0 and 1.1 carry a significant risk of data breaches.

As of May 2, 2018, users of Sage 100 versions 4.5 and below (formerly MAS90 and MAS200) are no longer TLS 1.2-compliant. Users of these versions have the option to upgrade to a newer version of Sage 100 to maintain TLS 1.2 compliance and to continue processing credit cards.

But what if you don’t want to upgrade your Sage 100 software?
